Track1: Quantum Optics

Quantum optics deals with phenomenon and applications of quantum mechanics. The main goal is to understand the quantum nature of the information and learn how to formulate, manipulate, and process it using physical systems that operate on quantum mechanics. Quantum communication is a part of applied quantum physics which is closely related to quantum information processing and quantum teleportation. Its most interesting application is protecting information channels on eavesdropping by means of quantum cryptography. One of the most important component of virtually all proper encryption schemes is true randomness which can elegantly be generated by means of quantum optics.

Entanglement of quantum information occurs when group of particles are generating or interacted in such a way that the quantum state of each particle cannot be described independently of the others. Even though when the particles are separated by a large distance, a quantum state must be described for the system completely.

Track2: Quantum Mechanics

Quantum mechanics is a theory of matter that is based on the possession of wave properties by elementary particles, where objects exist in a haze of probability instead in a position. The uncertainty principle, and the correspondence principle are the major applications followed to understand the nature of information. Quantum mechanics is the fundamental theory of nature of small scales and energy levels of subatomic particles. Predictions of quantum mechanics have been verified experimentally to an extremely high degree of accuracy. It is the only tool available that can reveal self-behavior of atomic and subatomic particles which make up all forms of matter. Quantum gravity is a field of theoretical physics that seeks to describe gravity according to the principles of quantum mechanics, where quantum effects cannot be ignored.

Various applications like quantum chemistry, superconducting magnets, light-emitting diodes, and the laser, the transistor and semiconductors such as the microprocessor, medical and research imaging such as magnetic resonance imaging and electron microscopy include quantum mechanics. Many modern electronic devices are designed using quantum mechanics. This theory also provides descriptions for unexplained phenomena, such as black-body radiation and the stability of the orbitals of electrons in atoms. It has also given insight into the workings of many different biological systems, including smell receptors and protein structures

Track3: Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics

An interpretation of quantum mechanics is a set of statements which tends to explain how quantum mechanics informs our understanding of nature. Classical electrodynamics, while successful at describing many phenomena, yields the absurd conclusion that the electromagnetic energy in a hollow cavity is infinite. Quantum mechanics is a unique mechanism among physical theories which stands in need of an interpretation to tell the universe what it means.

All the interpretations of quantum mechanics expect the same experimental results in various study of quantum physics but information physics is no exception, because the experimental data from quantum experiments is the most accurate in the history of science till now. The interpretations differ in the visualization they provide of what is really going on in the microscopic world according to quantum mechanics.

Track4: Quantum States

Quantum state is a description in quantum mechanics of part of a physical system. A state of a system characterized by a set of quantum numbers and represented by an eigenfunction. Different quantum states for a physical system show discrete differences in the value of the variables used to define the state. The energy of single state is precise within the limits imposed by the uncertainty principle but it can be changed by applying a field of force on that state. States that have the similar energy are called degenerate states. The quantum state is concealed by a set of quantum numbers that pick out the appropriate values for describing the state sometimes.

Characterizing quantum states is a serious bottleneck in quantum information science. Techniques employed was far more robust against inevitable noise and experimental errors than standard techniques. Many research groups are applying various techniques and methods on quantum state tomography which effects the future quantum computing in a great extent. The operation of various lasers, optics and photonics can be done by infinite dimensional orthogonal quantum state.

Track5: Quantum Field Theory

Quantum field theory is the extension of quantum mechanics which deals with the particles, towards field of systems with an infinite number. In quantum field theory, Interaction terms among the corresponding underlying quantum fields can be explained by the quantum mechanical interactions. These interactions can be shown visually by Feynman diagrams, which is a formal tool of relativistic covariant perturbation theory, serving to evaluate particle processes.

Quantum theory tells us that both light and matter consists of tiny particles which have wavelike properties associated with them. Fault tolerance and quantum triviality are the ways in which an operating system responds to a hardware or software failure. The term essentially refers to a system’s ability to allow for failures or malfunctions, and this ability may be provided by software, hardware or a combination of both.

Track6: Quantum Thermodynamics

Quantum thermodynamics is the study independent theories thermodynamics and quantum mechanics. Usually electronic circuits which are operating at sub-kelvin temperatures are the attractive candidates for studying classical and quantum thermodynamics, their temperatures can be maintained, controlled and measured locally with exquisite precision which allow experiments with large statistical samples. Now a day, a revolutionary understanding of quantum thermodynamics has emerged which explains this subjectivity using quantum information theory.

As thermodynamics grew up by trying to improve steam engines and circuits, today’s thermodynamics are mulling over the essentials of quantum machines. Recoil technology with a single-ion engine and three-atom fridge were experimentally realized for the first time within the past year which is forcing to extend thermodynamics to the quantum realm.

Track7: Quantum Photonics

Quantum photonics is a fundamental field in exploring quantum phenomena. Integrated quantum photonics, uses photonic integrated circuits to control photonic quantum states for applications in many technologies. Such an integrated quantum photonics provides a promising approach to the miniaturization and optical scaling of optical quantum circuits.

Major areas of application of integrated quantum photonics include are quantum computing, quantum communication, quantum simulation, quantum walks and quantum metrology and sensing. Quantum photonics is also expected to play a significant role in advancing future technologies such as Quantum Information Processing. The major carriers of quantum information are photons which is due to their low decoherence properties, light-speed transmission and ease of manipulation. Single photons were used for the very first violations of Bells inequality and are employed within many highly successful proof-of principle demonstrations of emerging quantum technologies. The implementation of quantum photonics employs linear optical components such as beam splitters, waveplates and mirrors in various fields. Such realizations of Nano photonics have been used to implement Linear Optical Quantum Computation.

Track8: Quantum Plasmonics

Quantum plasmonics describes where the laws of quantum theory are used to describe light-matter interactions on the nanoscale. The main principle of the Nano focusing property of metallic nanoparticles and materials consists in the conversion of electromagnetic waves into collective excitations of electrons, so-called plasmons, which can be understood as special optical nanocavities which can mediate extraordinarily strong interaction of light with molecules.

Plasmonic materials and devices allow extreme sub diffraction confinement of light towards regions in a finite way and the wave quality of matter which have a wealth of potential applications in sensing, lasing, and quantum computing. Track9: Quantum Computing

Quantum computers use quantum mechanical phenomenon to perform operations on data. Quantum computers use qubits, for encoding and decoding the encode information individually or both at the same time. This superposition of state along with the other phenomena of entanglement, enables quantum computers to manipulate enormous combinations of states at a time. A quantum computer with spins as quantum bits is formulated to use spacetime. Qubits can be used in different physical forms, like superconducting circuit and electron spin. Superconducting quantum computing is an implementation of electronic circuits in a quantum computer.

The manufacturing and development of quantum computers is still an ongoing process, but many experiments and research is carried out by which quantum computational operations are executed with very less qubits.it has wide range of applications in cryptography, simulating complex systems, computer security,development of new materials and drugs. Many national governments are funding towards the development of quantum computers in the fields of civil, business, trade, environmental, and national security purposes.

Information that is held in the state of a quantum system is the quantum information. This is the basic entity of study in information theory and it can be manipulated using engineering techniques known as information processing by quantum. As information in the classical format can be processed with digital computers, which is transmitted from place to place, similarly analogous concepts are applied to quantum information. The manipulation with algorithms and analyzation with the mathematics of computer science are also applied by the concepts of quantum information.

Quantum information science is a study based on that how information science depends of quantum effects of physics. Here a unit of quantum information is considered as a qubit. In looking for applications of this feature of the natural world, we focus on implementing new methods for metrology, sensors, laser science, secure communication, simulation of physical systems, and even information processing.

Track11: Quantum Cryptography

Quantum cryptography is a protocol to distribute secret keys using the principle and theories of quantum mechanics, which also depends on classical theory. The key which is distributed must be both common and secret. In this technique, initially the transmission errors must be corrected, whether it is done by eavesdropping or by imperfections in the setup. later a potential eavesdropper must know nothing about the key so that we can maintain secure information. To get this kind of information, secret-key distillation tomography is used. It requires a transmission channel on which quantum carriers are transmitted. Secret key distillation usually comprises of reconciliation to avoid transmission errors. Provable security refers to level of computer security that can be proved, which is used in various fields to check its type and level in cryptography. Many generic methods are used to tighter the security.

Quantum cyber security  and Quantum tokens for digital security have played an increasingly significant role in this development because they combine the advantages of a small design, reduced production costs, fast measurement speeds, high precision, reliability, and non-contact measurements across large distances using quantum cryptography.

Quantum technologies are set to provide much improved capabilities in timing, sensing and measurement, electronics, imaging, computing and simulation, and communications. Quantum technologies concern an even smaller scale and seek to exploit the special properties of individual atoms or photons. Quantum Control and Measurement Theory has a global effort under way by the major industrialized nations to translate quantum science from labs and research institutions into real-life applications that will positively impact industry and commerce.

One of the emerging technology in quantum measurement which pertains to the mechanical behavior of nanoscale systems in the quantum domain. Unlike the conventional studies of vibration of molecules and photons in solids, quantum Nano mechanics is defined as the behavior of the entire mechanical structure, including all its constituents like the atoms, the molecules, the ions, the electrons as well as other excitations.

Quantum metrology uses quantum theory to describe physical parameters by making high-resolution and highly sensitive measurements. Quanta is used as individual packet of energy for setting the standards for measurement and it will also give standards for high precision research in quantum metrology. Track14: Quantum Error Corrections

Quantum error correction is a correction used in quantum computing to protect information from errors and noise. This error correction is essential if one is to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computation and that can deal not only with noise on stored quantum information but also with faulty quantum gates, faulty quantum preparation, and faulty measurements in the information. Fault tolerance is one of the way in which an operating system responds to a hardware or software bug. The term essentially refers to a system’s ability to allow for failures, malfunctions, bugs. This ability may be provided by software and hardware or a combination of both, to handle faults gracefully. There are reports of new error correction methodologies that can lead to orders of magnitude fewer operations. Pluse control methods and thresholds increase the prospects for quantum computers with intrinsically short decoherence times.

Quantum nanophysics is the research area and the branch of physics of nanotechnology that uses methods of quantum mechanics for designing new types of nanodevices and nanoscale materials. The functionality and structure of quantum nanodevices are described through quantum phenomena and principles such as discretization, superposition and entanglement.Quantum dots are the emerging field for research and development of quantum physics and nanotechnology.

A well-known quantum nanodevice is a quantum computer, which can be considered as a quantum system for computation that makes direct use of the quantum phenomena, to perform quantum operations with quantum states. As an interesting possible quantum nanodevice, which should be built by nanotechnology, is a quantum robot. It includes a quantum computer and special devices to allow it to interact with its environment for its functioning which takes measurements or realize specified changes in the quantum states of the environment.
